Estate planning professionals in the Lehigh Valley and across the country play a leading role in assisting individuals and families in planning and managing their philanthropic activities and are often presented with situations in which the Community Foundation can help. The Community Foundation works with attorneys, accountants, financial planners, insurance specialists, and others whose expertise and client interests match the Foundation's purposes and services. We are pleased to assist professional advisors in serving clients or assisting clients on your behalf.

As a public charity, the Community Foundation is highly favored by the IRS for its mission of developing philanthropy for community betterment. The legal permanence of the Community Foundation offers a high level of assurance to clients: clients of the Community Foundation are our clients forever. Community foundations can't be purchased, acquired, merged, or moved. The variance power offered by community foundations assures clients that their philanthropic dollars will never be lost, even if the organizations to which they direct their charitable giving cease to exist over time.

With the generous gifts of time and expertise of its Professional Advisors Steering Committee, the Foundation develops publications, workshops, seminars, and other presentations that provide Lehigh Valley attorneys, accountants, trust officers, and other professionals with charitable giving options that fit their clients' needs. Whether for individuals, families, or organizations, the Foundation is a community-based resource for professional advisors.

The Foundation offers the following services for professional advisors:

Consultations

The staff of the Foundation is happy to help you find charitable giving solutions that accomplish our paramount task: ensuring that the donor's goals are accomplished. You may contact us at any time with questions regarding possible charitable vehicles and arrangements at the Foundation, whether basic or more complex. At a time and place entirely at the discretion of you and your client, we are ready to meet in person, as you deem appropriate, although we also fully understand the desire of some individuals for anonymity.

Seminars for Professional Advisors

The Foundation organizes an occasional series of seminars on planned giving topics for professional advisors from Lehigh, Northampton, and Upper Bucks Counties. Topics for these seminars included new approaches to charitable giving in estate planning and a workshop on legal and tax code changes affecting charitable giving. Most seminars offer continuing education credits.

Presentations

Foundation staff are prepared to make presentations for or with professional advisors in a number of different settings: small groups, client meetings, conferences and seminars, and club or organizational meetings.
