Ways of Giving
When you are ready to make a difference through the Community Foundation, we invite you to meet with our knowledgeable staff to help you identify and connect to what you care about most. We help people make an impact with their philanthropy and grow their charitable legacies:
We’ll help you through these simple steps:
Create your legacy | Think about what matters most to you. Whether your interests are broad or narrow, you can support them through the Community Foundation.
Decide when to give | You can establish a charitable fund today to give to the community during your lifetime. Or perhaps you’d like to defer your gifts through your estate plans. Or both!
Decide what to give | We accept a variety of assets, including cash, appreciated securities, real estate, life insurance, and retirement plan assets. Please see Make a Donation for more information on the types of gifts accepted.
Choose a type of charitable fund | Our expert staff will help you choose from our menu of charitable funds. We offer donor-advised funds, designated funds, scholarship funds, area-of-interest funds, unrestricted funds, and more.
Witness the impact | Once your charitable fund is established, the Community Foundation will help you monitor its growth and its impact on the community.
Gifts to the Community Foundation can be made in a variety of ways for a variety of purposes. Giving to the Foundation can be as simple as making a cash gift, in any amount, to one of the existing funds of the Foundation or as sophisticated as donating appreciated property to establish several different funds tailored to fit your philanthropic goals.
The Community Foundation's staff is pleased to work with you to explore all of your options for philanthropy and choose those that work best for you. Please contact Erika Riddle Petrozelli, Vice President for Philanthropy, to start the process.
ASK CARRIE | Ask me which type of fund is right for you and how the Community Foundation can help you create a lasting legacy and make a difference in the community....
