Grants from award funds recognize individuals for an outstanding achievement. The Foundation has established policies and procedures for scholarships and awards pursuant to the awarding of grants from funds where donor advisors have advisory privileges or participate in the selection of grant or award recipients. The Lehigh Valley Community Foundation has three funds from which education-related awards are made:
William B. & Elizabeth Behr Agocs Geophysical Research Fund
This fund provides an annual grant to the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Hungary for awards for graduate research and education in the field of geophysics.
The Bethlehem Educational Scholastic Trust (B.E.S.T.) Fund
The B.E.S.T. Fund provides annual awards to recognize excellence in teaching in the Bethlehem Area School District (BASD). Award recipients are chosen by a committee of educators and the Foundation for the Bethlehem Area School District and awards are presented at the School District's Opening Convocation.
