Dr. Russell E. Morgan, Sr. Fund
Established in 2003 by the remainder of a charitable gift annuity established by the late Dr. Morgan, this Fund provides annual grants to the Historic Bethlehem Partnership, with special interest in restoration and preservation of historic properties maintained by the Partnership.
During World War II, Dr. Morgan served in the US Navy as a Lieutenant Commander in the South Pacific. He was a member of the initial medical response unit for the surviors at the attack of Hiroshima. After the war he returned to the Lehigh Valley and was a surgeon at St. Luke’s Hospital, Sacred Heart Hosptial and Muhlenberg Hospital. He played a role in local music, serving as president of the Chamber Music Society for two years.
