2006 — Wilson returns from Hershey with the PIAA Class 2A football championship but Liberty is denied a 4A title for the second straight year. D.J. Lenehan throws for three touchdowns, including the go-ahead strike to sophomore Justin Scerbo with 7:11 left, and the Warriors (16-0) overcome a 12-point third-quarter deficit to beat Jeannette and highly touted quarterback Terrelle Pryer 29-28. Lenehan throws for 229 yards to end his career with 7,762 passing yards, and also runs for 100 yards on 17 carries. Pryor runs for 139 yards and two TDs while throwing for 93 yards and a score to help Jeannette to a 28-16 lead before Lenehan’s 6-yard TD strike to Chris Labatch narrows the gap. Liberty isn’t nearly as fortunate, however, falling to Upper St. Clair 47-13. The Hurricanes (14-2), outgained 346-7 on the ground, are held without a first down until early in the fourth quarter and finish with 103 total yards and two first downs.
