Hunter Meckes Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Hunter Meckes Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in 2013 by the Lehighton Area Soccer Club. Hunter started playing for the Club in 2001 at the age of 4. Tragically, his life was cut short at the age of 5 due to injuries he suffered in a car accident. The Fund memorializes Hunter, a caring young boy who had a passion and love for soccer. The purpose of the Fund is to provide an annual grant to the Soccer Club which in turn works with the Lehighton High School to award scholarships each year to a senior male and female varsity soccer player who not only got their start in youth soccer playing for the Club but who also show a commitment to giving back to their community through volunteerism and acts of good deeds.
